CIS 2 Class Assignment 1

Get together in groups and discuss the following case. List pros and cons of using robotic medicine:

The US military is developing a system with which a surgeon can perform surgery miles from the patient on whom he or she is operating. The system combines video and robotic devices controlled by radio waves. The immediate goal is to save lives of soldiers wounded on battlefields far from expert surgeons. It may eventually be used for other emergency situations and to provide specialized surgery for remote patients, perhaps including patients who could not be moved without risks to their health.
